Power of Attorney Statutes
- Statutory Form for Power of Attorney: Wisconsin Code, Section 243.10.
- Notary: The signature of the principal upon a POA must be acknowledged by a notary.
- Witnesses: Two witnesses, in addition to the notary, must witness the signature of the principal upon the POA. Also, these witnesses may not be related by blood, marriage or adoption to the principal nor may a witness be an heir under the principal's will.
- Signature of Agent: The agent (also called "attorney-in-fact") must sign the POA.
- Wisconsin Statutes dealing with Powers of Attorney, See Section 243.07.
