Yahoo Search Marketing Complaints

- My complaint. I'll have to say that my experience with Yahoo® Sponsored Search has been favorable up until yesterday. That was the day I discovered, what appears to me, to be an unauthorized increase in a keyword bid price in my account. The bid price for a key word went from 25 cents (the amount I authorized) up to $9 per click! It happened in late June and, luckily, I caught the problem in early July. I ened up out about $45 with click rates between 2 and 3 dollars. Could have been much worse. How did it happen? I have no idea. That appears to be the only keyword whose bid magically increased. Did Yahoo do it? Have no idea. Funny that I discovered the error early yesterday and today I get admin message from them that reads as follows: "Minimum bid requirements have increased for 'MedLawPlus.com, Inc.' Some of your active Sponsored Search keywords will soon become inactive. Review bids now." Anybody else out there experience a similar problem?

In related news, Yahoo was hit with a recent lawsuit alleging click fraud in its PPC program. The allegations made in the lawsuit are different from the facts given above. (Information Week, 4-16-2008)
