I've heard the EXACT same dialog each and every time I either call Charter support, or have an on-line chat. Quite honestly, I'm confident that is because you are always dealing with someone in a country outside the USA, who is simply reading from a script ! Once you have shown that you kinow more than they do or start asking "uncomfortable" questions, their focus shifts to basically 'patronizing you while they figure out how they can very kindly 'blow you off' without hanging up on you!
My prayers were answered when AT&T rolled out their U-verse product to my subdivision ! Whenever I've called THEM for tech support or with a billing issue, I've spoken with a U.S. person (usually in Atlanta,GA) and they have resolved the issue 100% of the time, while I was on the phone with them !!! (Hmmmm, imagine that !) KUDOS TO AT&T ----- NICE KNOWIN' YA, CHARTER !!
