I'd like to know if anyone has found an avenue of complaint with U-Haul that works. Sounding off on this site might feel good, but it doesn't result in compensation or refunds.

In my case I rented a truck in Connecticut and discovered in New York that the gas gauge wasn't working when the engine stopped on a interstate - out of gas at 10 p.m. Then the "service" department told me they couldn't find anyone to come out that late at night. Now, they won't even provide the promised transcripts of the phone conversations. The gas gauge still wasn't working after I filled the tank upon return.

Has anyone taken this piece of junk company to court??
