Subject: Billing, service, collection, they owe me money

I decided to no longer have charter as my provider for my phone and internet because when I called to ask for the best price after paying the regular price for three months they refused saying they no longer offered any specials to existing customers. I told them I had had it with them and their service and would terminate my services with them as soon as I could. My phone service was disconnected about the 3rd week of May. It is now September the 10th. My internet service I asked to terminate in early June. I have been sent bill after bill saying I owed them money. My bill was always paid in advance and automatically. They owe me money. I have received notices saying they were going to downgrade my service if I did not pay them. I had no service with them any longer.?????? Cannot downgrade what I do not have. I have a list of names of people I talked to and their identity numbers who said I did not owe. I was sent to a collection agency and tried to talk to them. I do not owe any money. They would not help. Said I had to send copies of all documents to prove my position.
My local office closed down and so I mailed my equipment back to Charter in the next town as I could not find their office.I have a signed receipt for their having received the equipment.
Another person in another country said I owed a small sum of 38dollars and some odd cents. I still felt they owed me but sent a check to try to circumvent all this. Finally a very nice gentlemen said he and his supervisor would contact the collection agency and take care of all this. I did not owe any money charter owed me. I would get a statement after the 2nd September showing they owed me. They owe me $33.63cents. THEY DID NOT SEND ME ANY MONEY!!!!!! I have put up with calls from them to contact their office. I got several different dates for disconnecting my service. That was their mess up. I have had Att since May for phone and also the Internet. Today when I called Charter they said it would take 6 - 8 weeks to disconnect someone??????? After that I would get my check. I WILL NEVER do business with CHARTER ever again as long as I live. I HATE the way they have treated me and being sent to a collection agency. I always pay my bills promptly. Let me know of any action being taken against charter. They deserve it.
