I just noticed that Directv made an unauthorized withdrawl from my bank account on 8-23-09. They not only withdrew my last bill, but also for 2 receivers. They withdrew an additional $525.00 plus tax. I received my disconnect notice on 8-17-09 via email. My Receiver Return Kit was sent out on 8-18-09. My question to any Directv Rep out there who reads this, is why does the direction list you send out with the Receiver Return Kit say "Important: Make sure to return your receiver within seven days of receipt to avoid a charge of up to $470, depending on the type of your receiver." Well, if my Receiver Return Kit wasn't sent out until 8-18-09, then its safe to say I didn't have it delivered until 8-21-09. What happen to my seven days? Is this how Directv does business? They don't even give you a chance to return the receivers before they want to charge you for them. When I called them, they said I will be credited the $525.00 after they receive the receivers. It only takes 8 weeks for them to send me a refund in the mail. 8 weeks!!!!!!!!!! Something has to be done about these shady business practices. They should not be able to do this to people.
