Subject: Bank of America: Obscene interest rates
Comment:
I noticed in my July credit card statement that the minimum payment had jumped significantly. As I reviewed the statement, I noticed that my interest rate had jumped from 13.24 to 24.24%. I called the customer service number on the card and was told that a letter went out regarding the increase and the option to \"opt\" out of it. Their representative realized by my questions that I had not seen the letter. She reitereated that a letter had been sent and I should have receive an email alert through my online banking. I received neither.
When I explained that I have been a good customer, have not been delinquent on the account, I've not made late payments and always paid more than the minimum requested, I was told that the best she could do was to drop it down to 23.24%. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I currently work 2 jobs to make ends meet-this will most assurdely create a hardship for me. Again, I have been a good customer and see no reason for this increase other than greed. Absolutely obscene.
