Subject: DirecTv rips me one
Comment:
I had my wife call and cancel our services. She was told we would recieve our final bill in the mail. This was July 3rd. When she checked our bank statement on the 10th a payment, which neither one of us authorized, was taken out of our account (we recied the bill, the following monday). She called and they said according to their contract they were authorized to do so. She argued with them until she finally just told them they were idiots and she would contact our bank. Directv emailed us a copy of their contract, which was dated April 4, 2009. We have been customers with them since late 2005/ early 2006. They also want us to return the receiver which we purchased at Circuit City. Their excuse was that it was to lower our receiver rental rate. She told them to go back and look in their paperwork at the agreement signed when we signed our contract. We were sent an email telling us if we signed a contract with them after March 2006, we had to return our receiver (ours was purchased before this). Then they sent another email stating all customers receiver contract updates as soon as they change. This is a load of crap because we haven't received one since we signed with the company. Our bank is helping us to dispute everything (because we didn't authorize the charges). Hopefully we will get it worked out soon. If not, they need to be sued for every penny they've made and will make by ripping off customers.
