Well this seems to be a common problem. I had Direct TV installed in my home on the evening of 20 Mar 09. After the installaton the tech told us we had 72hrs to decide if wanted to keep the service. Well on the morning of 23 Mar 09 my wife called and cancelled the service and she was told that we could be charged up to a 480.00 cancellation fee. But, after further discussion she was told that there would be no charge. Well about four days later a charge of 452.11 was debted to my account from Direct Tv. We called and spoke with a customer service rep that night and we were told that if we would come back they would refund the charges. She also told us that she couldn't help us and gave us a phone number and an address to file a complaint. I called my credit union and they preformed a charge back of 452.11 against Direct TV. Well to my amazement it happened again about three weeks later, Direct TV debted my card 452.11 which led me to call the credit union and preform a second charge back. I have cancelled the card but I have received a letter from a collections agency for the 452.11 and the threat of possible intrest charges if I don't pay. I did't get much help form the Better Business Bureau or the Attorney General. Does anyone know of another approach?
