I opened a new account in the BOA of Sun City West, Arizona 30 days ago. I deposited two checks from my employer without incident. But when I deposited the third check from the same source (it was for $2,500) they told me that they would put a hold on the check for 2 businees days. The two business days took 5 days to elapse because of Memorial Day weekend. During that time, 4 checks totalling about $300 that I had written were rejected for Insufficient Funds (even though they had $2,500 of my money on hold) and BOA then charged me $35 for each of the 4 overdrafts. I complained the manager (Jacqueline) and she claimed ignorance. She said that "the system" does all of that and I can't help you with your problem." Does anybody know of any recourse that I can take? I already complained to her -- she just smiled and asked "is there anything else I can help you with?"
