Having dealt with these scumsuckers, this is what I've learned and more important WHAT I DID. 1. If you cancel your service for any reason, remove your CREDIT CARD authorization before you do it. Otherwise, they will charge your card and the credit card companies won't back you up. 2. If you are being harassed for an early termination fee, don't bother arguing on the phone. They don't care and when you interact with them on the phone, they think they have you. Write a letter to the President of Directv telling him you will not pay the early termination fee. Tell him that you will contact the FTC, the Attorney General of California and the Attorney General in your state. AND DO IT!!! Addresses below for AG in CA.: State of California Public Inquiry Unit P.O. Box 944255 Sacramento, CA 94244-2550 Dirctv is located in Segundo Calif.
Their scumbag debt collection service is in Waterloo, Iowa. You will soon be inundated by calls. Do not talk to them. A waste of time. The CBE Group. Inc. agency... in the business known as real bottom feeders. 131 Tower Park Drive, Suite 100, Waterloo, IA 50701. Get yourself educated by finding out what the rules are concerning debt collection and document every call they make to you. They are supposed to adhere to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. It is on the internet. If you don't fight back wisely and you let them ruin your credit who can you blame but yourself. I know it is a pain in the neck to do this but if we all fight back, the laws will be changed. Good Luck. STICK IT TO THEM!!!!
