Comment:
Charter is still continuing the practice of advertising "promotional" prices without specifically labeling them as such. In addition, they continue to advertise prices to the GENERAL PUBLIC which are actually only actual prices for CURRENT CHARTER CUSTOMERS.
I can't begin to describe just how wrong it is to quote a price in an ad, just flat-out assuming that every single person reading it is already paying them money and signed up with them for something or other.
Not sure if this qualifies legally as "false advertising", but it should. The only thing they have to back them up is some small print, which appears to be in only a few, well-hidden places. Possibly not even on every ad.
Charter won't bother to tell you how you will get charged $10.00 extra for being a non-Charter customer until you get your inflated bill and call to complain. Then you either face the hassle of looking for a new ISP or suck it up and stick with them. Bad business practices all around!
I just filed complaints with the BBB and FTC today, and am hoping that will do something, or at least contribute to the consumer-side of this fight in some way.
Believe me, if I had the financial backing, I'd start my own ISP that would make Charter history.
