Comment:
US Fidelis settled a lawsuit against it by Verizon for making unsolicited telephone calls to Verizon cell phone customers by agreeing to pay $50,000. But here is the interesting part of the story: "Also, it’s worth noting that Verizon isn’t the only wireless company suing the service-contract industry for allegedly making unsolicited calls to customers. In January, AT&T Mobility filed suit in a Georgia federal court against four “John Doe” companies for allegedly cold-calling AT&T customers in order to sell them extended auto-service contracts. (The companies haven’t been named yet, so there’s no reason to believe US Fidelis, National Dealers Warranty or Dealers Warranty are involved in the suit.)" St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Apparently there are other firms in St. Charles, Missouri also aggressively selling auto warranties.
