Subject: Cox is a scam.
Comment:
Just bought a new home and opted to go with Cox for my cable and internet service. I called for installation and was told that the homeowners beforehand had cox and that I didn't need installation and to come pick up my boxes. Picked up the boxes, bought a modem and installed myself. Did not work. I called and complained. They set up an a appointment 5 days later. The first guy no-called/no-showed after I took off work, though he said he called twice. The second time they installed the cable. I then decided I wanted to go with At&t because they provided a discount on my mobile phone use as well as more channels for a cheaper price and rebates. Cox offers a 30 day money back guarantee. When I go to settle up my bill I incurred a $40 installation charge for ''user error''. I never signed for any charges nor was I told of them. It only came up when I cancelled my account. The billing supervisor, Chad, let me know that I already had gotten a good enough deal getting my money back on the 30 day guarantee that they would not be waiving anything. I'm not sure how Cox testing my outlets and telling me they are fine, going to pick up their boxes, and them being wrong about the service being turned on is my fault. Chad was extremely condescending and rude both on the message he left me as well as on the phone. Once things became heated I told him to just send me to automated billing so I could just pay it and be done with them for good. He then forwarded me to the bill pay- IN SPANISH. What a joke.
