I have just opened a letter from National Action Financial Services(a blockbuster corporate collection agency). Letting me know that I owe blockbuster 22 dollars for late fees I accrued from the first and now come to see it will be the last time I rent from one of there stores since this NEW POLICY took hold. I was unaware of this new policy since my boyfriend rented the movies. I was a little taken aback by how much he spent at the store renting 3 movies cost over 23 dollars, but owell no biggie I figured the prices to rent went up. I did not know that if you did not return the videos in 5 days from the rental they would charge 1 dollar a day for every movie you have out..each day until you return it. IF I knew about this NEW policy...I would have been more diligent taking them back. I think I had them out about 3 or 4 days past the date and I just dropped them off at the drop box.. But, I was unaware of the fee untill I went to rent movies a few weeks ago. I had three movies in hand expecting to pay about 22-23 bucks..and they tell me I owe over 50 bucks...I Was shocked..I'm like what...what ab out the no late fees policy..WELL, they changed it. And, my boyfriend really didn't pay attention to the fact that if you didn't bring them back in 5 days you'd be charged 1 dollar a day for each movie..so 3 dollars a day. Anyway, I left the store and did not rent for that night, I actually went to hollywood video. Which, as of now will be the only place I rent. And, I will be cancelling my blockbuster online. Anyway, Two weeks after my attempt to rent from them..i get this notice in the mail..COLLECTION AGENCY....Unbelievable. I called the store to ask them WHY I did not get a phone call or any mail regarding what I owe..and if I didn't pay I would be sent to a collection agency. They said mayb it's beccaus they did not have the correct address or phone number..(they checked and they were correct) She then went on to tell me that the Agency is a Blockbuster agency and it will not affect my credit. Just to pay it when I can. Well, I am not paying them 22 dollars and I am no longer giving them 20 dollars a month for online services..and Now that I got a Playstation 3, they will be losing alot of money from me since I will not be buying or renting anything from them..including games. So, I figure they are losing overall about 100 dollars a month from me, give or take. All because they went back on there word about NO MORE LATE FEE's. So, if anyone files a suite on them, I'd be happy to join in!! I was done with blockbuster until they removed late fee's. I happily went back and gave them my business for a few years...and now..it's like they betrayed me. I will never go back again..I will not be fooled again...
