In January, I purchased an item on the internet using my debit card for $134.00. The money was taken out of my account a few days later. When I received the item, it wasn't what I expected so the company told me to return it and they would give me a refund. I returned it. Then on April 1, Bank of America said I was overdrawn by $90.00. I had money in my account but they added the $134.00 plus $100.00 in overdrawn fees. I went to the bank and talked to the bank manager. He said he reversed the fees and credited my account with $134.00. HUH? He said for me to file a claim against the company. I did. The manager told me that the company had never been paid. (I knew that wasn't true because a few days after I ordered it, I checked and it was taken out of my account.) I told the manager that I would call the company and ask for a refund. I asked him, if they send me a check what should I do? He said to give it to him. I asked, "but doesn't the check belong to me"? He said, "no, because we credited your account $134.00 so you have to pay that back". (He said the company was never paid but the company said they were). Anyway, the company wouldn't have given me a refund if they hadn't gotten paid. When I got home, I checked on my account again but there was no $134.00 in my account. Just the balance that I had originally, which was about $44.00. All the other figures magically disappeared. So, I called the company and asked them when they were paid and she said they were paid before the item was sent. I told her that I never did get a refund. She said she could put it back in my account if I give her my card number. I told her to send me a check instead and she said OK. I received the check today and I have no intention of giving it to the crooks at B of A. I intend to close my account tomorrow. If anyone wants me to be part of a class action lawsuit, let me know.
