In February 2008 I called to have my DSL cancelled. The woman I spoke to asked me why. I told her I no longer had a computer and wouldn't be getting a new one because I sit at one 40 hours a week. Then she offered me a 2 month credit. I said great! She said nothing about me having to call back in 2 months to have my service cancelled yet again. I thought the credit was just to keep me from getting billed for the current & next month service, since they bill a month in advance. Why would I continue the service when I no longer even had a computer? After the 2 months they continued to bill me for the DSL that I was unaware that I still had. Months later (my fault for not examining my bill sooner), I am STILL getting billed for DSL.
When I called they told me it was my fault for not catching it sooner, and that they would only credit the current month, and next months bill for the charges.
WHAT A SCAM! ! ! They admitted that I called to cancel. The manager said they do that to give you time to fix or buy a new computer. The operator that I spoke to went as far as to call me a liar, stating that I knew I was keeping the DSL, because I took the credit(once again, NO COMPUTER),,,why would I keep DSL?
The moral: Examin your bill EVERY MONTH! ! ! They can't be trusted to do what is requested of them. They will go to any means to keep billing you.
