I am a former Uhaul GM from kansas city. I agree about the guarentee. It is a marketing ploy and only causes customers to get upset and managers having to be on the defensive all the time. I began explaining the real process to customers and was fired not long after even though my store had increased profits by 30% from the previous year. I will say to all the customers who have problems with Uhaul that the store managers have very little control over how the store is run and it is the corporate managers that are to blame. Also the trucks are in horrible condition and break down all the time. Uhaul just does the mininum to patch them up and send them back out. Uhaul is a terrible company!!
