I just got a letter from Chase stating that my arte is going up by more than 4%. I called and asked is that how they reward a cardholder that has never been late, always pays before due ate, and at least $50 over the minimum, and they said; sorry we are increasing across the board. They said the early way to keep the 7.99% promised years ago, would be to close my account. I asked if they would freeze my account so it would not affect my score and they said no. I closed it but I am going to write Congress. There should be an investigation against the bank that tax payers bailed out. I closed my account because with $12k balance there is a great difference between paying at 7.99% versus 11.99%.
