Comment:
I moved back to Kentucky in September and signed up for AT&T phone service (only because they are the only game in town in this small rural area). I signed up for a bundle plan that included unlimited long distance, unlimited local, internet, caller ID, call waiting, call blocking, three-way calling, etc. for a quoted $62.95 per month. The first bill was $92. OK, I paid it. The second bill was $196!! I called on several occasions before I got a Customer Service Rep. I explained my problem that my bill was double what I was quoted. (I did have some collect calls on the bill, but I was taking that into account). She said, "Mam, your bill is $62.95, we just provided a breakdown of your charges". I said but the break down of your charges is $126, not $62.95. SHe said my bill was reflecting the 411 I used three times at $1.50 each and international 411 at almost $2.00 each.(I have never used international 411 in my life). I called back and got another rep. who informed me that they had to double bill me because they did not bill me for internet and long distance on my first bill. I informed him they were not supposed to because my charges were bundled and internet and long distance were included in the bundle. To make a long story short, I told him I did not care to continue talking to him, because the bottom line is that whatever they charge, I have to pay or lose my service. My latest bill is $103.00. Now I notice on my bill that it says there is "no long distance plan for this customer". That is not correct! Why can't AT&T bill what they quote their customers when they are signing up? It's almost like they think once you sign up they have you and what can you do about it.
