Where to start. Like many I have no other choice for cable service, only Charter. Just today I called them because I was going over my bill, which I only recieve online, and noticed I was being charged for a WWE on demand service for 7.99. I had never ordered the service, or even realized I had it..I went back through my bills and discovered this had been going on since June. I immediately called "customer service" and explained to the agent what I found. She graciously agreed to take the charge off my bill for this month. I explained that I had never ordered it and could she please tell me what she had for records as to when it was ordered. She told me it was offered to me by an agent in June to make up for loss of service for two days when I called in June. I stated that I did not remember this and that I knew I had called in June (and many other times when my service was out or sub par)...So, she told me that she had no way to take the charges off. I asked her who did. She told me "Nobody." I asked to speak with her supervisor. I waited on hold, for 10 minutes (another tactic, I have been cut off countless time when put on hold, and whenever I request to speak to a supervisor I have to WAIT)....This man, whose job you could not pay me enough to do, got on the line and basically called me a liar, and lectured me that I should go over my bills more thoroughly, but after a half hour of debate, did agree to take the charges off going back to June. Now, I will eat my hat if that actually happens.
Other instances of bad customer service- I have been hung up on repeatedly. I have made appointments for service and the tech has not showed up or showed up on the wrong day. Etc.
In my opinion this company knows they have a majority of their customers over a barrell if they want cable service and they take full and total advantage of this fact. If I had another choice short of going with satellite, I would do it today.
