Subject: New Blockbuster late-fee changes
Comment:
I just discovered a $7.92 Blockbuster charge on my credit card. When I called the store to ask what it was for, they told me it was late fees. Now, I know Blockbuster had eliminated late fees awhile back -- they would still say there was a "due date" but wouldn't actually charge fees until the movie was kept out for a month. I asked, "But wasn't it returned?" Yes, it was. I'd had it about a week and a half, not a month. "So, why am I being charged?" I was told that my city is a "test market" for reinstating the previous late fees. If I'd known this before, I wouldn't have kept the movie so long. In any case, I will not be returning to Blockbuster. I think this is deceptive and unfair.
