Here is an interesting article from The Vancouver Sun newspaper making the case that the problem with Vioxx and like super aspirin goes deeper than safety issues. The being that pain is an important part of overall health as it is the body's way of telling us that something is wrong. Turning off the pain can be part of ignoring warning signals our body is sending us. Good point but what about people with chronic arthritis? The pain is always there every single day, continuously. What's the point of receiving a pain message every waking moment telling us our knees are a horrible mess? These issues are never black and white. I can wholeheartedly agree with the articles point about the dangers of aggressive drug marketing.
