I wanted to purchase a college football game from the ESPN Package. I called the number on the screen & was sent to of those absoutely useless voice recognition systems. The first time it directed me to channel 799. My service does not have a channel 799. I tried again. This time I tried another option. I followed these directions, & was sent to PPV on the menu. I followed the directions, but could not get access to PPV. I then opted for the customer service rep. I said that I wanted to order the LSU game. The game was blacked out in LA, & was sold under the university's own broadcast system. I knew that before I started, but did not think that this fact would affect ordering in the state of Alabama. In any case, this person told me that the order was entered, & that the game would be on Channel 352 which is the channel I was on when I called. At 7:00 p.m., I accessed channel 352. No game. I called the number I was given by the customer service rep to report technical problems. I was on hold for approx 10 minutes. I gave the phone to my husband while I attempted to get the game on XM. He spoke to what was supposed to be a tech rep for over 40 minutes to no avail. This person finally suggested that we buy the entire ESPN Package which, he added, we could cancel after the game. We tried this too. We turned off the TV & restarted. The ESPN package didn't load either. By this time, it was almost half time. I called Charter again, but this time I by-passed the recordings & went directly to the Operator. I was connected to someone right away. I explained the problem, and cancelled the ESPN Package. I will be most surprised if I am not billed for this next month. I thought COX was bad, but Charter is the worst!
