I got wholly and completely ripped off by U-Haul. They advertize that a 17 ft Easy Loading Mover truck is for 2-3 bedrooms which is what I had; no washer, no dryer, no refrigerator, no stove, etc. I sold most of my items before moving.

We weren't even half way done loading that truck and it was obvious it wasn't going to be big enough. That truck was $1,550 alone. So, we got a quote on a trailer (RV) of $29/day. When we went to pick it up to pull behind the truck, it was $850!!! So here I am in the midst of moving - a single mom - I have to be out of the apartment like now! What a scam! It ended up costing me almost $2,600 just in U-Haul fees to move from CA to CO. Oh, and try to contact them is a nightmare - I had to turn it over to the Better Business Bureau. I wish I'd read this message board first before renting from U-Haul.
