Ian is so right here! I fired them a long time ago for similar and worse stuff, took them back for internet after the called to solicit my business and assured me they were now easy to do business with. Happy for a long time, NOW THEY SUCK. I get calls from their outsourced people in customer service who can't speak English (well, the speak a little, but it must be read off of cards and they don't know how to UNDERSTAND English. Approximately four months in a row they disconnected me and it takes HOURS on the phone with rep after rep to get it back on. Sometimes they answer, stating, "Hello? Hello?" I am saying "Hello?" Then click! They hang up. They are always sorry, but that does not get my time back. I wish someone would compete with them. I feel angry that they are outsourcing American jobs to other countries and then are do not demand those workers be able to function on the phone and properly do their job. If they did not give me service, how can they work in customer service? They don't post payments (a month later, maybe in my experience). I can't even phone my local office anymore (those people have their stuff together and are most helpful and organized and I enjoyed them and doing business with them). No, I have to speak to someone in some other country who can't even understand me and is not organized and after speaking with them I still get no service. I had one today who asked me 9 times how many cords were in the back of my modem and about 9 times I said 3 cords. Over and over and over. I am now actively looking for a replacement for them as I asked for a supervisor who talked to me and told me that was not going to change ever, or at least in the near future, that they would continue to outsource. I am sad because now I must shop for a replacment broadband provider and I don't know who to call. If anyone out there wants to replace them with good service and English speaking reps who can also understand English please post here. I will join up and send all my neighbors, famliy and friends.
Honestly, if anyone knows of a replacment company please post it here to end my agony. My time is worth something to me and I wasted over an hour today on Charter. I would rather channel that energy to someone who gives a damn.
