It is now the day before August 1st 2008 and I have yet had my cable / internet restored. I first placed a call on June 07, 2008, I was informed at that time that if I didn't buy the insurance package that they offer that I would be billed for any work that was done inside the home. I refused the offer.

The problem isn't inside my home, but rather on the pole that houses the feeder box. The feeder box is cracked and the cable line ran from the feeder box to the next pole is cracked also corroded. I have also found out that that cable is over grown with ivy and since this is evident that other things can bleed into the the cable line. Hence the virus I now have on the computer. If someone is on a two way radio it bleeds into the lines as anything else, ie: phone, dish, transmition towers.
I have called every week, then every other day, then every day. With no solution to the problem. Every time I call I am told that they have to open another SRO and it could take up to ten days for them to process the order. After the second person came out and figured out that the problems is not inside the home but on the outside. Then I was told that a specialized service techincian would have to come out and climb the pole. When he came I was informed that another type of techincian would have to come out and follow up on the order.
Now...I have three boxes inside the home plus internet service. I can only get three channels on the T.V.'s and no internet at all.
I was told someone would come to the house Monday July 28, 2008 to repair the problem They sent a inside Tech, he detected no problem. (you think?), then they set another appointment after I called them that same day for a tech to come out and try to repair the problem. Wednesday July 30, 2008 (only two days inbetween), I was sent another tech. He also was an inside tech.
There seems to be no light at the end of this tunnel for Charter and I. The sad thing is, that I can't even use another service for they all work off the same feeder box and the same cable line. The only differece is that they run thier own cable to the house, which intails drilling another hole into the walls of my house. I don't think so...I have rabbit ears in the attic.
What can a person do to get solutions and restitition?
