Main thread--Uhaul Billing Complaints
State: wa Posted: 07/16/2008 Subject: Practices Comment: We rented a 24 ft GMC. The truck was know to have problems and they rented it anyway. We got stuck over 6 times before the final time and it would not run. The tow truck driver said he had towed that same truck 4 time this month. The week before we rented an older 24 ft truck that would not shift, we went 29 miles and it drank 20 gallons of fuel. Uhaul said that was normal but there new 26ft GMC got about 6 to 8 miles per gallon loaded , and we went 136 miles and only had to put in 20 gallons. Now they won't rent the the nice 26 ft trucks for in town use but the crappy old beat up TOP KICK's or C5500 for in town use only why?, well so when they have tow it back to repair it does not cost them so much to tow. Another time i rented a 17Ft f-450 and it leaked exhust and on a 650 miles road trip i got sick and almost black out from breathing CO2 with my kids in the truck also felt sick too! Uhaul quailty has gone down and custormer service blows. There rates are high and there trucks suck! They have you by the balls because they know you need to move and they know it. I don't what can be done to require there trucks to go through inspection and pass but when i look the inspection for this last truck it passed U haul standered but would it pass the fed's i think not. |
