Main thread--Uhaul Billing Complaints
State: NJ Posted: 06/21/2008 Subject: Air Conditioning Comment: I just moved from WV to NJ and was very upset that the 26ft. u-haul we rented did not even have air conditioning,could not believe this as the truck was a 2008 and only had about 600 miles on it.When we returned the truck the people there said they had never seen one without air conditioning and couldn't believe it either.It wouldn't have been so bad if it had been winter time but it just so happened to be one of the hottest days yet it was June 8th and 9th.It was so hot and with my diabetes and age I felt very unwell and my friend doesn't do well in the humidity so needless to say a trip that usually takes 6.5 hrs. to 7.5 hrs.by car turned into 15 hrs. We had to keep stopping and going into places with air conditioning just to cool off for awhile.I know it should of taken longer in this truck but 15 hrs. is terrible.We were suppose to return the truck on Sunday the 8th.but couldn't return until Tuesday the 9th. because we didn't arrive at our destination until 9 pm Sunday evening and had to wait until our son's came home from work to help us unload. I had to pay around the sum of $202.for late charges after the initial payment of around $480. I can tell you this I will never recommend u-haul to anyone I know.Thanks for allowing me to vent my anger. Sincerely,Wilbert |
