I never cashed those $3 checks. However, I did receive a letter last year saying that my failure to respond would sign me up for the Credit Card Protection, I figured it was a scam and tossed it out. Shortly after I was charged around $140 to my credit card. (In the middle of my thesis I did not follow up) I just got the same charge again and will be fighting for my money and credit back, as this unsolicited charge also put me over my limit.
