I recently returned two DVDs on time to my local Blockbuster in Walpole Massachusetts. A week later, I was told that I had late fees pending because the DVDs were returned 5 hours late. This was a blatant lie. Blockbuster Inc. says that they have no authority over the store because it is a "franchise" not a real Blockbuster store. The $2.08 fee is not the problem - the blatant lie is. If the store has a ten foot high sign saying Blockbuster, it seems to me that it represents that company. The home office excuse that they can do nothing is totally bogus. These people are lying fraudsters. I wonder how many people in a hurry just pay the "fees" without questioning their origin. I will no longer do business with this cheating company.
