Subject: Charter Promotion Practices
Comment:
I have been with charter over 3 years and just had the basic plan. I get a promotion call from Charter with free installation, because on the call I explain to them that I am single and do not need all the extra channels but I was told to try for 3 months then I could cancel. When I received my bill there was an installation charge and I immediately call them to dispute the charge and was told that I had to pay the installation charge and I told them that was not the agreement and to pick up there equipment and I was told that there would be another charge and I told them what to do with the other charges and I was not paying and I was told they would get there money. I returned all of their equipment and paid all passed due amount. Then I received another bill for $92.77 the bill said for services from March till April which I did not have service. When I called to dispute the charhes I was put on hold four times before finally aomeone told me what the charges where and it was because of the disconnect service on the box I did not want the first place. It seems they put on a lot of promotions but the billind department is not aware. I am not home a lot and live alone so as I told them from the jump I did not need the extra service it was the promotion that they where giving at the time and did not honor.
