We rented a Uhaul back in March of 2007 and made sure that we requested the insurance coverage. Well the worst happened and we were in an car accident. Nobody was sighted we gave them the Uhaul information that they told me to give when we spoke to them on the phone. We drop off the Uhaul and ask is there anything that we need to do since we were in an accident. They said do not worry about it you had coverage. A month later we get a phone call from Uhaul's insurance company asking for us to contact them. So we did and did not receive a call back. Not in October, 8 months later, we recieve a letter stating that if we did not contact Republican Insurance Company they were going to contact our local DMV and put it on our record. For what?? So we called to clear everything up. No phone call back. We kept calling and would never receive a call back. We then asked to speak with a claims manager and still did not receive a response. So I decided to do a little research and to see what was going on. I called customer service and asked them what the insurance covers. They said they did not know. I asked to get a copy of the contract and they told me there would be a fee of $15 whether they find it or not. Well we finally got a hold of the Sherry from Republican and was told we did not get the insurance that covers both the Uhaul and the other car but just damage to the Uhaul. We told her we were not given any options on that matter. She was extremely rude. We call Customer Service and got the run around. We never actually got to speak with a supervisor even though we asked many times. They just kept switching us from person to person with no answers to our questions. One person said they do tell the two different options in the insurance and we did not listen very well. So we called to set up a fake Uhaul pick up and guess what they did not even offer us insurance we had to ask. They never explained what the insurance covered or the cost. We do not know at this point what to do. According to them we owe them $3600 for the accident.
