Subject: Uhaul needs to learn how to deal with customers!

We rented a truck and car trailer from Uhaul in Florida. To start with the place had nobody there that knew how to hook up the trailer. It was pouring rain and we were told we could wait until someone came from Tampa, which would be about 4 hours they said, or we could figure it out ourselves????? So in a god awful thunderstorm we figured it out. Gotta love Uhaul! Then the truck was full of glass in the back, so we had to clean that out. Then the truck started acting up in Georgia-wasn't running right and guzzling the gas. When we arrived in Virginia and began unloading the truck, we found out that the truck leaked and our brand new mattresses were now soaked and smelled like mildew. Now to be honest, the people in Virginia were great. They treated us with respect and were very sympathetic, but they were not the NASTY people we had to deal with. I called on October 3 and got the biggest run-around you can imagine, finally spoke to someone and gave them the details only to be told that I would only receive $100 back...when told that was not acceptible, he told me it was and that was all I was getting. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he told me point blank "There is no one above me". I asked his name and he told me to have a good day and hung up on me. Great customer service! The next incident was with the secretary to the exectutive assistant in Florida...this lady could not have been more rude....she told me point blank the lady was not available and would not be available. I left my number anyway-how dumb was I? To this day, Oct 15,07, I have not heard from them. So...I have been on the phone with them for the past 2 hours..still nothing.These problems that I told you were not the only ones...they charged the wrong credit card..we were paying cash plus some on a credit card. We gave them the credit card number and instead of them charging that card, they charged the card that I made the reservation with. This account was in the process of being closed, meaning there was only enough money in there to cover the charges that had been made. So now my account is over drawn by $200 plus all the overdraft fees...plus the other charges that were suppose to come out. When told about this, Uhaul advised me that, that was my problem I should have checked the bill before leaving the store.If anyone has any suggestions on this please contact me. I am at a loss of what to do...I am thinking of contacting FOX NEWS and a Lawyer...do you think it will make a difference? DO NOT RENT FROM THESE GOD AWFUL PEOPLE!
