State: minnesota Posted: 09/18/2007 Subject: credit card protection - deception Comment: I was unfortunately deceived last year with this check for $ 3.25. From what I received, I understood it came from my credit card company and that they were sending this money as a way to "say thank-you", for opening my brand new credit card...it made sense to me so I cashed it..days later I realized I had benn charged $ 89 in my CC After that, I received a letter form them, asking me to fill out a form with information about the rest of my credit cards, encouraging me to send it by promising to send a FREE Credit Report and a FREE Credit Card Calculator Wallet. I did not send any further information and, I hoped that after a year this suscription will be done, but NO...TODAY I realized they charged my account again for USD 129!! and called them inmediately to cancel this so-called membership, and they told me that the refund will take between 1 and 2 billing periods, which means 1 or two months, to receive my money back...At this point, I am not sure if they really took my request seriously or this is something that is not going to end in a couple of months. |
