I am a branch manager for a bank who has seen literally DOZENS of these checks from Preferred Cardholder Division--and the hefty charges that appear on my customer's statements later. People don't read the fine print on the back of the check which "enrolls" them in this program. Technically legal, but VERY sneaky. I tell any one who tries to cash these to tear them up. This is a real company in Lanham, MD, but anyone who tries to call them gets very poor service.
