Early Termination Fees
- Class Action Case. Sprint Nextel Corp. faces a $1.2 billion federal class-action lawsuit in California alleging improper early-termination fees were charged by the company to its customers. Link. This comes on the heals of "a California court (ruling that) Sprint's early termination fees unlawful. The judge ordered Sprint refund $75 million to its contract-canceling former customers." Link.
- Here is the complaint of one Sprint Nextel customer who was charged a $600 termination fee despite being with the company for several years.
- Last year, Minnesota Attorney General "Lori Swanson filed suit against Sprint Nextel for what she calls a violation of Minnesota's consumer protection laws. Swanson accuses the company of using "hidden trip wires" to extend the contracts of unwitting wireless customers." Link.

Subject: wrong billing
Comment: I was a customer of sprint for almost two years and was billed up to $500 per month for calls to my other Sprint cell. I could not get out of the contract because of high termination fees. up to $5oo times almost 2 years ... Read More
