Ask a Plastic Surgeon / Rhinoplasty
Question 1
Question: I was wondering, being that I'm only 19, if rhinoplasty would be a wise option for me. I'm not sure what is the youngest age one must be in order to have plastic surgery done. Also, I'm Filipino and I wanted to know if you specialize on my certain nose type. I have a typical Filipino nose, which is pretty much flat and not much definition.
Response: If you are over 18, then you would be able to have rhinoplasty. It sounds as if the bridge of your nose is not strong enough. This can be improved by puting a graft along the dorsum or bridge to raise this area up higher. Usually, some work is done on the tip as well. A consultation is necessary, however, to make any firm recommendations regarding this procedure. During your consultation, we will review the risks in detail and they will be written down for you as well.
