Ask a Plastic Surgeon / Face Lift
Question 11
Question: I am a very young looking 40 year old female due to good genes but I have Marionette Lines. I've done alot of reading and I know that fillers are temporary and I want permanent. What do you think would be best- an endoscopic cheek lift, a mid face lift or a full face lift? Thanks, Tammy
From: Tammy, Florida 02/18/2008
Response: Hi Tammy
While all the procedures you listed will soften fats pads sitting above the marionette lines, NONE of them will give you long-lasting improvements to the marionette lines themselves. Marionette lines are caused by a loss of fat under the skin, and are improved with volume, not pull. If you want something permanent you can look at Advanta or Goretex implants or fat augmentation. The results will not be as soft as with fillers but will get you the permanence you desire.
Take care
