Ask a Plastic Surgeon / Breast Augmentation-Lift-Reduction
Question 58

Question: 6 weeks ago I had a breast lift and augmentation, a tummy tuck and liposuction in one area of my outer thighs. As for my breasts, the scars look amazing and are healing great. My breasts are still pretty sore, especially my right one and when I am doing the massage exercises, you can hear a squishing noise on the right side when I am moving things around. What is causing this noise? Will it ever go away? I have a weak stomach and it actually tends to make me queasy when I hear it which sometimes keeps me from doing the massaging which I know needs to be done. I am trying to be patient but I just want to feel normal again.

Response: Dear Kristin,

You had a lot done at one time and it will take a while for things to feel normal again. The "squishy" sound is simply air in your implant which will diffuse out, generally, over about 2 months or so. It is possible that it is other things and you should ask your surgeon to check it out for you but that is the most likely thing. Nothing to worry about.
