Ask a Plastic Surgeon / Breast Augmentation-Lift-Reduction Question 48
Question: I have had two surgeries in 5 years to correct a condition known as gynecomistia. I am still not satisfied because my nipple are still puffy and they still protrude from my chest. I have heard that it may be because i need to have the glands removed by performing gland excision surgery. How true is this?

Response: This is true. Some men have true breast tissue which cannot be removed by liposuction (even ultrasonic-assisted liposuction) alone and require a small incision on the lower aspect of the areola to surgically remove the glandular tissue. I suggest you discuss this with your plastic surgeon.
