Ask a Plastic Surgeon / Breast Augmentation-Lift-Reduction
Question 42

Question: I am sure I have a leak in one of my saline-filled implants. Will my plastic surgeon want to schedule surgery to replace it fairly quickly or is this something that can wait?
From: Sherry, CA 01/06/2008

Response: Greetings,
If you were my patient, I would offer replacement as soon as you could arrange your surgery... Depending upon the implant and manufacturer, also check for an existing warranty with your surgeon.
Call you plastic surgeon's office to find out the implant details and his (or her) treatment recommendations.
Sincerely,
Doug Raskin, MD, DMD
