Ask a Plastic Surgeon / Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) Question 10
Question: I am an 18 year old female and I am wondering if there is a surgery that can give my eyes a bit of an upward slant and a little hood on them sort of like this--
I find my real eyes overly hollow and unattractive:

Response: The upward lateral slant is not a problem, this will also support your lower eyelid so that your eyes are narrower. Do not let the surgeon overdo this procedure which is called a canthopexy or canthoplasty since you do not need much improvement in this area. The upper eyelid fold is difficult since you have a higher eyelid fold than the model who's eyes you like. As the years go by and your brows drop, you will get more overhang and a lower fold. For now, you could try some botox into the lateral forehead region but this will lower your eyebrows which is an attractive feature of your eye region. Just have the physician try with 10 units of Botox to relax rather than fully paralyze the muscle.
