Ask a Plastic Surgeon / Abdominoplasty
Question 32

Question: May 1st 2009 I had abdominal plasty(Full not mini),I have been vomiting everyday what could this be? Also it seems my scar may have growen to my hip bones? If I move from side to side it feel's like it's pulling or tearing inside.

Response: You need to visit with the surgeon who performed your procedure. Very often, the pain pills used can slow gastrointestinal motility so that you feel nauseated or vomit. This is far too long for that since you should be off all pain medicine. A scar cannot grow in length, it must have been made that length at the time which is unusual for a mini procedure. The scar tissue can give a feeling of tearing but you need to visit with your surgeon.
