Ask a Plastic Surgeon / Abdominoplasty
Question 31
Question: Is 6 hours to long for a combined tummy tuck and breast augmentation? Is it safe to have both done together? Is there any benefit from having them together? I am 36 in good health
From: Jen, Ohio 04/02/2009
Response: Jen,
Always seek a second opinion when you pose the questions in this inquiry.
Find a mature, experienced board certified plastic surgeon and have him or her examine you to determine the extent of surgery needed and the operative time required.
Combining surgeries should save you the risk of a second operation and should save you some money as well.... Your weight, height, and prior medical history also help to determine the issues of safety. A combined tummy tuck and breast augmentation in my practice is a 3-3.5 hour procedure in the average patient (130-160 lbs.) without a history of massive weight loss.
