Ask a Plastic Surgeon / Abdominoplasty
Question 12

Question: How long after a c-section can you have a tummy tuck? Do you have to have lipo with it?
From: kim, MT 12/06/2007

Response: I would generally suggest awaiting at least 3 to 6 months for the skin to contract and for any fat loss that is going to occur to do so. You should have a tummy tuck when you are as thin as you are ever going to be for the best result. Liposuction, if needed, may be done concurrently with a tummy tuck in other areas but I never suggest doing so to the abdomen since I believe that an optimal result is not obtained when both procedures are so compromised.
