Question: I had a full Tummy Tuck 1 week ago and have minimal swelling in the abdomen but my pubic area below my incision is quite swollen. Is this normal?

Response: Yes, especially if you have been upright a lot. Swelling and bruising will settle in the most dependent area and flow with gravity. This area is often swollen for many months following a full abdominoplasty. Make certain to have the area checked by your surgeon to make certain that there is no infection contributing to the swelling and that all healing is proceeding normally.
