Ask a Lawyer -- Immigration Question 20
Question: My boyfriend was born in Nicaragua and moved to the US with his family back in the 80's. He now lives back in Nicaragua. He has an MBA and currently works as an analyst for a US brokerage firm that has out outsourced a research division in Managua, Nicaragua. He really would like to work in the US but doesn't know how to even start the process. What's his first step? What is the probability of him working here? How long would it take? He's a very intelligent, hard-working person who would love the opportunity to reach his full potential in the states.

Response: Mary, you did not mention when he left for Nicaragua and how long he was in the US and in what status or no status? Please answer the above questions and let me know what is your intention as far as relationship, i.e., are you planing to get married?
